Catholic Women Association (CWA) Celebrates 31st Annual Thanksgiving and Induction Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Juba

On Sunday, 17th November 2024, the Catholic Women Association (CWA) celebrated 31st Annual Thanksgiving and Induction Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Juba. The Mass, which commenced at 10 am, was celebrated by Reverend Father Edward Ganda. The theme for this year’s event, “Let us come before Him with thanksgiving” (Psalm 95:2), resonated deeply with the congregation as they gathered to give thanks for God’s blessings throughout the year.

The Mass included the induction of new members into the CWA, reinforcing the association’s ongoing commitment to fostering faith and community within the Church. New members were welcomed warmly, marking a significant milestone in the association’s growth and mission to serve both God and the community.
The event was held under the distinguished grand chief patronage of Mr. and Mrs. Mamusu Massaquoi Murana, Deputy Director 2 at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Mrs. Sengbeh Koker, Dr. and Mrs. Satie Kenneh, and Madam Lucia Kargbo from the National Revenue Authority (NRA). Their presence highlighted the strong relationship between the CWA and local leaders, emphasizing the shared commitment to service and faith in the community.
During the offertory, various items were presented as symbols of gratitude and service to God. Representatives from the Catholic Men’s Association (CMA) and the Association of Catholic Women Association (ACWA) were also present, further reinforcing the unity among the different branches of the parish.
Reverend Father Ganda blessed the distinguished guests, offering prayers for continued guidance and grace in their lives. His blessing marked the spiritual significance of the day, reminding all present of the importance of faith, community, and service to others.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the CWA President, Mother Augusta Alieu. Her words expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and dedication of all attendees and participants, reinforcing the spirit of unity and devotion that defines the CWA’s mission.
This annual event not only celebrated the achievements of the CWA over the past year but also renewed the association’s mission of service, devotion, and faith within the community.
