About Us

Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Juba, Freetown, is a vibrant Catholic community dedicated to deepening the faith of its parishioners and serving the spiritual and social needs of the local area. Named in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title “Our Lady, Star of the Sea,” the parish looks to Mary as a guiding light and protector, especially for those navigating the challenges of life.

History

Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish has a rich history of faith and service within the Juba community. Over the years, the parish has grown into a spiritual home for Catholics in the area, offering a place of worship, formation, and outreach. Patroness

Our Lady, Star of the Sea is the parish’s patroness, revered as a symbol of hope, guidance, and protection, especially for those facing the storms of life. As the star guides sailors safely through rough waters, Mary is seen as a guiding presence for the faithful, leading them closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.
